Industrial heat is one of the hidden foundations of modern production. From food processing to materials manufacturing, many sectors still depend heavily on energy-intensive thermal processes. FLEXHYON is working to change that by developing flexible hybrid electrified heating systems designed to support industrial decarbonisation and improve energy efficiency.

In our newest FLEXHYON podcast episode, we speak with Morgan Gohin from Roullier Group, representing Agro Innovation International, one of the industrial partners involved in FLEXHYON. Agro Innovation International participates in the project as partner ROU and contributes to validating new eco-heating solutions for mineral drying processes within industrial mineral drying process for feed-related applications.

Why industrial heating matters

Industrial heating processes consume significant amounts of energy and remain strongly dependent on fossil fuels. FLEXHYON addresses this challenge by combining alternative electrified technologies such as microwaves, heat pumps and ultrasound to support cleaner industrial production.

The project focuses on three industrial applications:

  • ultrafast drying of compact materials,
  • drying of granular materials,
  • distillation and extraction processes.

The goal is to help industries transition towards renewable and low-carbon energy sources while improving flexibility, efficiency and production performance.
