
The FLEXHYON project held its official launch on 5–6 February in Brussels, bringing together partners from across Europe to align on project goals, key milestones, and the detailed planning of work package tasks. The meeting was opened by Pau Rey, Project Officer from the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), who welcomed participants and set the tone for what promises to be a collaborative and purposeful effort in advancing sustainable industrial heating.
About the FLEXHYON project
FLEXHYON is focused on decarbonising industrial heating processes through the development of hybrid drying technologies. These include the integration of microwave, heat pump, and ultrasound systems tailored for the ceramic, feed production, and biomass sectors.
The project is structured into 17 work packages that will take the innovations from initial design through to industrial validation. The overarching objectives are to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, lower CO₂ emissions, and improve energy efficiency across targeted industries.
